For those who are very curious about the gender of our baby... Here is the answer...
Our baby is a Boy... :)
For those who have guessed correctly, congratulations and remember to buy the right gifts for our baby... :P for those who have guessed wrongly, it's ok... try harder next time and dun forget our baby's gifts... :)
Really happy to see our baby growing well in Mi Mi's womb. The gynae who did the detailed scan is a very good story teller and he is very experienced and helped us to know where to focus and what to look at. When it came to the part of the genitals, the doc was very funny when hr said that the baby was lying sideways so can't see well.. "seems like a girl, but wait... we need to look at it from another angle and there it is, it's a boy" We are glad that our baby is healthy most importantly and also God confirmed His word as He told us that our baby will be a boy even before he was conceived... Isn't it amazing?
This year's CNY, our baby got his 1st few red packets from his grandma and also Moo Moo & Mi Mi's church friends... Thank you so much for the ang bows... Uncle A & Auntie S, Uncle C & Auntie J.
CNY this year was a very different for us as Mi Mi had to work on both afternoons and the 2nd and 3rd day of CNY, due to some technical glitches and an email that was not sent out to the students... so our afternoons were spent at home, while Mi Mi was working, Moo Moo was playing with his new toy, Dell Axim.
On CNY eve, we booked our 1st car, the Nissan Latio. White car with beige interior as that was the only color left for 2006 shipment. We did not want to pay $3K more for 2007 shipment as there was no different in the car at all, interior or exterior. We want to be good stewards and be prudent in the way we spend our money... Now it is really dependent on whether we can get the COE during the next 6 bids... If we dun, we will get back our deposit for the car and it will be a clear indication that this is not the car for us... :) We were actually comtemplating about getting the premium for $3K more, but after the incident the night before, we learnt that it was not about the asthetics of the car but how well the engine is and how well the car can serve us...
The night before, we were supposed to send T & S to the airport for their honeymoon, but their car broke down at the petrol station outside church. Hence they had to leave for airport by flagging a cab, while we waited for the AA guy to come. When the AA guy came, he said that the battery was not spoilt but the alternator was spoilt, thus the car needed to be towed... By this time, it was way past 10pm and both of us were hungry. Moo Moo asked the AA guy if the car can be charged up to be driven back to Tanglin Halt where T & S were staying, he said: "No problem!" Immediately after Moo Moo drove out of the petrol station, the car died. Moo Moo was upset and ran back to the AA guy who was still at the petrol station and his reaction was" You have to call again. I have already sent out my service report via GPS." Moo Moo was really upset by then but kept his cool and asked him to help, as the car was jamming up the traffic flow. After 5 mins, he reluctantly came up and helped charge up the battery to allow the car to drive into a small lane very nearby. What irritated Moo Moo was this AA guy's irresponsible comment about asking Moo Moo to call for tow truck at the start when he did not even suggest that. After driving the car to the small lane, the AA guy left and it was another 30 mins wait before the tow truck came. By then, we were very hungry. The tow truck guy asked a very "interesting" question: " Where do you want to tow your car to huh? Any workshop?" Moo Moo was taken aback alittle and started calling the contact he had from a mechanic, but the shop was already closed for CNY holidays. Hence, the only way out was to tow to Moo Moo's house. So the AA guys started towing. Moo Moo & Mi Mi boarded a Mercedes cab and the cab driver seemed to sense something that was troubling us and began to inquire. A miracle happened. Uncle Sim, who is the cab driver, has a son who is working for ORIX which is a big car rental and maintenance company in Singapore. Hence he made the call and the workshop was open for half day on Sat. Praise God! So Moo Moo called AA immediately and the car was towed to ORIX. Uncle Sim was so nice, he sent us to ORIX to make sure that the car was towed there before he sent us back to our place. What a night! We had our dinner only at 12+am.
Through this incident, we learnt something before we booked our car on Sat, it is not how good the car looks, it is how well the car engine is and how well it can serve you. For Latio asthetically, is not a good looking car, but the engine is good and fuel efficient...
That's all the update for now...
Moo Moo signing off
