Here's a quote for Thanksgiving from www.joyfulheart.com
Thanksgiving is the seasoning that makes our prayers edible to God. After all, who wants to hear people whine all the time? I've learned that you can't whine and give thanks in the same breath. Self-pity and thankfulness don't mix any better than oil and water.
Often, we take thanksgiving for granted, yet Paul wrote this while he was imprisoned..."Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God." (Phil 4:6)
In this season of Christmas, who are we thanking? Who are those who have impacted your life, your work, your spirit man, your being? Often, we (including me) take these people for granted but these people are most often the most influential people in our lives.
Have you thanked God for today? For the air you breathe and for being able to live on earth another day?
Just some food for thot to end of this week...
